As an ‘Active School’ Scoil Bhríde commits to having Active School Week as part of the school calendar. Scoil Bhríde involves the pupils in the design and organisation of the ASW programme and invites local sports clubs and physical activity providers to give taster sessions during ASW.

We had a fabulous Active School Week this year and thankfully the weather was mostly favourable. It was a wonderful sight to see Billie Jean and Claudia giving a dance lesson to our classes out in the yard while the sun shone! We also enjoyed orienteering, tennis, races, basketball, football, games and obstacle courses and of course, our annual Staff versus Students Rounders match. We all had a great week!

We had a very successful ‘Active School Week’ this year. The weather was on our side and the school grounds were a hive of activity from basketball to tennis to orienteering. One of the highlights of the week was the dance class with Billie-Jean and we would like to thank her for her fun and energetic lessons. The week culminated with a very competitive Staff versus Sixth Class rounders match. Both teams were confident of a victory, but our referee Mark declared it a draw!
