Physical Activity

Active Break Every Day Challenge

This year every class will aim to complete the Active Break Every Day Challenge over a period of 4 weeks. The children have had great fun completing this challenge. They have participated in a wide variety of active breaks, from running in the yard, completing the 10@10 in the classroom, dancing to GoNoodle, skipping, Cosmic Kids Yoga, Bizzy Breaks etc. Remember, every child should be physically active for at least 60 minutes every day; some of this takes place during the school day and some after school.

Incorporating physical activity into school calendar events

At Scoil Bhríde we aim to incorporate physical activity into our celebrations at Hallowe’en, Christmas and Easter.

We held a disco for our Infants this Hallowe’en. Great fun was had while a lot of energy was expended!

We danced our way into the Christmas holidays this year! A big thanks to Ms Walsh’s fourth class for making it happen! The fourth class girls performed the moves to ‘All I want for Christmas’ on the stage in the big hall first, and the next time all the other pupils and staff copied the moves. The fourth class girls also taught the infants and children in Cuisle the Reindeer Pokey. A great start to the holidays!
